Prof. Andrea Ticinesi



Dr Andrea Ticinesi graduated in Medicine and Surgery at University of Parma (Italy) in 2009, specialized in Internal Medicine in 2015 and obtained a Ph.D. in Medical Sciences at the University of Parma in 2017, with a dissertation on the relationship between gut microbiota and urolithiasis. After a Research Fellowship at the Department of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Parma, he currently works as Staff Physician at the Geriatric-Rehabilitation Department of Parma University-Hospital. His main research interests include the clinical applications of microbiome science, with a particular focus on the associations of microbiota with aging, geriatric syndromes and nutrition. He also participated in research projects on clinical ultrasonography in geriatrics and infections in the elderly. He has published more than 70 papers in indexed journals, including Gut, Kidney International and Journal of Clinical Medicine, with a total impact factor >200.
